I am supporting Doug James for the Klein ISD Board of Trustees, position 2 and hope you will join me with your support. When I was hired in 2002 to be the first director of the Klein Education Foundation, a board of directors had already been created. One of the first directors I met was Doug James. We have remained good friends over the years. In fact, in recent years Doug and I have served together on the Houston Northwest Chamber’s economic forum committee.

Doug is running for Position 2 on the KISD school board – the seat vacated over the summer when long time board member, Steve Smith, moved to Dallas to be closer to the family. Steve has endorsed Doug and will come to Klein to show his support! I strongly believe Doug is the right person at the right time!

Doug and Ronda were active volunteers in their children’s schools — Nitsch, Klein Intermediate and Klein Forest. Besides volunteering at these schools and serving as a KEF director, Doug has served on bond committees and other district committees over the years. His commitment to Klein is undisputed.

Doug is quick to tell you that their three children received the best possible education in Klein. They were totally prepared to earn not only their bachelor degrees but also their master’s degrees — all three of them! And, guess where they are today? Back in the class rooms of KISD as teachers.

Doug and Ronda feel that they should give back to KISD to ensure other children have the same opportunity their children did. Doug is totally invested in the promise that is Klein ISD.

I urge you to attend some of the planned “meet Doug” gatherings and to vote for my friend Doug James. Additionally, your support through volunteering in the campaign and/or through donations would be greatly appreciated.

The election will be held on November 11 – Veterans Day – with early voting taking place October 23 – November 3. Mark your calendars now to VOTE FOR DOUG JAMES for position 2.
