Investing in the PROMISE together!
I wholeheartedly support Doug James for Klein ISD Board of Trustees. Doug has been one of the district’s most active volunteers and KISD is better off as a result.
Doug James–the right person for our KISD kids because he understands the need for good teachers.
I am supporting Doug James for the Klein ISD Board of Trustees, position 2 and hope you will join me with your support. When I was hired in 2002 to be the first director of the Klein Education Foundation, one of the first directors I met was Doug James. We have remained good friends over the years…
I'M INVESTED IN KLEIN
Like many Klein residents, I want Klein ISD to be the leading school district in Texas. As a resident for 31 years, I know many talented people in Klein ISD who have worked towards making this goal a reality.
I entered this election because I understand that public schools provide the main road to opportunity for 90% of this country’s children, I want to defend and improve this backbone of our community. I am the right person at the right time to help Klein ISD realize its strong “Promise 2 Purpose” vision that “EVERY child will enter with a promise and exit with the purpose” of a quality education like our children had, and I want to give back!
My wife, Ronda, and I owe a great deal to the outstanding teachers, principals, counselors and staff members who influenced our children and helped them discover their purpose. All three of them have earned both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees! I want to help provide that same measure of success for EVERY student who enters the doors of Klein ISD schools. Two of them serve as Klein educators, and the third is pursuing a teaching certification—as we speak.
Having served as one of the original directors of the Klein Education Foundation and as a member of the 2015 Bond Committee. I worked with our new superintendent, Dr. Champion, on the Promise 2 Purpose Strategic Planning Committee and District of Innovation team. I’m flattered to report, that I have a room named in my honor for my help in establishing the International Business Academy at Klein Forest… that’s being invested in the district.
I’m invested in the public schools’ system and understand its vital place in our community, I’ve been involved in uplift the community since we moved to Klein 31 years ago. From reading to the elementary classes to the PTO, to Booster Clubs to my wife and I leading community volunteer efforts. As a member of the School Board, I can help Klein realize its strong vision for the future of EVERY child.
I volunteered at many Klein schools and on various district leadership and strategy teams. I served as one of the original directors of the Klein Education Foundation and as a member of the 2015 Bond Committee. I worked with our new superintendent, Dr. Champion, on the Promise 2 Purpose Strategic Planning Committee and District of Innovation team. I’m flattered to report, that I have a room named in my honor for my help in establishing the International Business Academy at Klein Forest. My commitment to the purpose for Klein students and possibilities for Klein educators is unrivaled.
WHY ELECT ME?
To fully realize that vision for Klein ISD we must start with the end in mind. Meaning, we must not only embrace but celebrate a more diverse perspective that ensures EVERY Student within this 87.5 sq. mile district enters with a PROMISE and exits with a PURPOSE and has access to the best KISD has to offer at EVERY level. I understand that I may run this election as an individual, but the Klein Board of Trustees governs as a team.
I believe my professional and business background makes me uniquely qualified to be a positive addition to the Klein ISD. I’ve been blessed to work for “One of the Fastest Growing Companies in American Business History” (Fortune 1986), leading the Creative Services, Mar Comm and System Content Management teams respectively. For the past 14 years, I’ve owned and operated my own Marketing Communications firm, focused on non-profits and cause-based business’. Although the budgets are smaller the impact is just as great. Not to mention, the other hats that we as small business owner MUST wear.
More than 20+ years ago, my wife “convinced” me to leave my comfortable corporate office at HP, then COMPAQ Computers, to come to the elementary school and read to a group of 2nd graders during my lunch break. You see, although Ronda taught school for a while prior to us having our first child, at this point she embraced being a stay-at-home mom and volunteer. During this time it seemed all the readers were moms, so once Ronda identified a need for them to experience a male role model…I was reluctantly, first in line. Little did she know that it would not only change their lives. But mine would never be the same. My passion for helping to shape lives has never been stronger.
